Revelation 18:1-3 portrays an angel with authority descending from heaven and declaring that Babylon the great has fallen. The exploitative commercial system of the harlot that is Babylon has made the nations drunk, the kings immoral, and the merchants wealthy.

Revelation 18:4-8 describes how the people of the earth are called out of Babylon as her destruction is pronounced. Her deeds will be paid back on herself double, and as much as she glorified herself will she suffer torment. God is in control as justice is served.

Revelation 18:9-20 details the kings, merchants, and mariners who profited from the commercial system of Babylon, how they lament its swift destruction. This sadness is contrasted with the rejoicing of heaven, the saints, apostles, and prophets that the judgement of the harlot has come at last.

Revelation 18:21-24 shows that another angel pronounces further violent destruction upon Babylon, she who contains the blood of the saints slain upon the earth. Music and other daily activities will cease, and Babylon will be like a millstone thrown into the sea—it will not be found.

An angel with authority descends from heaven and declares that Babylon the great has fallen. The exploitative commercial system of the harlot that is Babylon has made the nations drunk, the kings immoral, and the merchants wealthy. Demonic influence is rampant on the earth. The poor and weak are exploited. But this will come to an end.

A voice from heaven invites the people of the earth to separate from Babylon as her destruction is pronounced. Her deeds will be paid back on herself double, and as much as she glorified herself will she suffer torment. She will suffer plagues, torture, mourning, pestilence, famine, and fire. God is in control as justice is served.

The kings, merchants, and mariners who profited from the commercial system of Babylon lament its swift destruction. This sadness is contrasted with the rejoicing of heaven. The saints, apostles, and prophets are called to celebrate that the judgement of the harlot has come at last.

A mighty angel pronounces further violent destruction upon Babylon, she who contains the blood of the saints slain upon the earth. He casts her into the ocean like a great millstone, from which she will never return. Music and other daily activities will cease. The earth will be quiet and grave after this destruction.
