Please choose a passage in Revelation 21
God promises that He will come and dwell among his sanctified people in the new earth where there will be no more pain.
He who sits on the throne speaks directly to John in his vision, telling him that God is in control and is going to reward the overcomer and punish the unbelieving.
John describes his first glimpse of New Jerusalem. It comes down from heaven, denoting that God’s presence will live there in the city without the need of a temple building. It has an enormous wall with twelve gates and angels guarding each gate, honoring the twelve tribes of Israel, with twelve sets of stones building its foundation, honoring the twelve apostles.
John describes the measurements and construction materials of New Jerusalem, which include many jewels and logic-defying pearls.
There will be no temple in the new earth. God Himself is the temple. We gain a glimpse into life in the new earth, which is vibrant and filled with activity and industry. We also get a warning that some will not be allowed to enter the new Jerusalem.
John is given a vision of the new heaven and the new earth. Our current earth is gone. There is no ocean on the new earth. A new construction of the holy city of Jerusalem lowers out of heaven. John hears God’s voice declare that God will now live among His people. All pain, suffering, and death will be gone.
John then describes his first glimpse of New Jerusalem. He is taken to a mountain to survey the holy city. It has come down from heaven, denoting that God’s presence will live there in the city without the need of a temple building. The city shines like a beautiful stone. It has an enormous wall with twelve gates and angels guarding each gate, honoring the twelve tribes of Israel, with twelve sets of stones building its foundation, honoring the twelve apostles.
John describes the measurements and construction materials of New Jerusalem, which include many beautiful jewels and stones. Its gates are made of gigantic pearls. There will be no temple in the new earth. God Himself is the temple. He is the source of light. There is no night in the city. We gain a glimpse into life in the new earth, which is vibrant and filled with activity and industry. We also get a warning that some (those who practice abominations and deceit) will not be allowed to enter the new Jerusalem.
